During a storm, high winds, rain and snow, we can often feel fear and exhilaration at the same time.

Fear of damage to our homes, ourselves, our family, friends and others. Exhilaration feeling the wind blowing through our hair, a sudden gust moving your body, the rumble of thunder and the crackle of lightning that soon follows.

The power of an external force that is entirely natural.

Does this remind you a little bit of how we live our lives?

Fear can hold us back, fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of upsetting others, fear of injury, fear of confrontation, the list is almost endless.

But if you start to bring changes into your life they can be exhilarating. They only need to be subtle to begin with, you don’t run a marathon without knowing how to walk first!

Try something new like joining a singing group or the local ramblers, try a climbing wall at your local gym, enrol on an Open University course, book a trek in Nepal, start yoga or pilates classes or perhaps start up that healing group you have always talked about.

It is a big world out there and it is yours for the taking.

Yes, fear can hold us back but the feeling you get when you have conquered your concerns and anxiety is 100% exhilaration!

Best wishes
